Este interessante livro foi encontrado na rua. Fala da perspectiva do ser humano enquanto espécie animal, do ponto de vista de um zoólogo.
Apesar de ter ideias bastante desactualizadas, e algumas poderem parecer machistas, racistas e europeístas, penso que o autor estabelece de forma bastante exacta que está a observar a espécie humana de um ponto de vista puramente funcional e evolutivo, tomando como exemplo aqueles seres humanos que sucederam em evoluir para a sociedade moderna. Ora, isto pode ser uma falácia, na medida em que todas as espécies actuais estão na mesma escala de evolução, mas ele explica precisamente isso.
De resto, é muito curioso ver como o autor nos analisa em comparação com os outros grandes primatas e como, na impossibilidade de viver como eles, desenvolvemos novos tipos de comportamentos que permitem a persistência da nossa espécie. De um ponto de vista puramente etologista, isto é brilhante.
Recomendo vivamente, mas com um grão de sal.
